Hey guys, currently have a 2inch suspension lift running 33" tires, however tires are scrubbing out before full flex on the inside of guards, thinking of putting in 1inch or maybe 2inch coil spacers to stop the scrubbing, will eventually be getting a 4inch suspension lift with all the fruit but thats expensive for an apprentice
Just wondering if this is a viable option for the meantime as is quite cheap
And would I have to do anything else for the 1inch coil spacers?
Gq lwb
Cheers guys

Tell us a bit more about your truck Sam, have the springs saged? are you carrying a lot of weight in the back? what sort of wheels do you have? etc.

Mate that will affect so much more and not worth doing without doing extended brake lines, Panhards ,radious arms and a number of other stuff... there are many on here that would say steer clear of coil spacers mate.

Springs to do not appear to have sagged, and I am running 33" maxxis bighorns on 16" rims
Koni adjustable shocks, and has firestone airbags in the rear
This is running no weight in the rear also, just while going over ruts and flexing

Thanks mate, I did do abit of prior research but couldnt find alot of info
With what your saying might not be the best way to go, do you happen to have any other suggestions?

The best way to eliminate scrubbing is extending your bump stops or fitting rims that have more negative offset(ie tyre sticks out away from the body).

Whats involved in doing putting in extended bump stops? And after researching am left confused as to which ones to get for the rear and for the front

Your problem is the offset of your rims mate for sure. If your lift is 2" only and the inside edge of your tyre is scrubbing on the body just above your chassis rail inside the rear guards then look for some new rims with a greater Negative offset.

Installing longer bump stops will just limit your flex by stopping in short of full. Fitting spring spacers will not help you in any way mate

With MR sounds like your OFF SET is all wrong,
I have 15mm spacers but only to replace factory rubber

would the spring spacers help if the tyres are scrubbing on the flares (outside lower section) ??...without removing the flares !

Its not so much about the spacers its about lifting to 3-4 inches and not changing any of the other components....

Are your running longer lower trailing arms? Get rid of them and refit your factory length trailing arms.

What size tyres? Front of the guard or rear of the guard? Do you have a quarter chop?

KM2 muddies...33's..-21 offset..no quarter chop...don't really want to remove the flares ...looks like I might have to though...at the front of the flare MR

yep...onto that BA..I would alter everything else...the suspension is new so just wanted to use the spacers like Sam21..should have just gone the 3 inch to start with !

cheers fellas
