Hi everyone,

I have done a few searches and can't find the info I'm looking for. Basically what has happened is on our last road trip the air con pulley bearing busted and was just screeching and grinding so I took the belt off and drove home. The next day I looked at it and the pulley had actually come off and was no where to be found. I bought a new one off ebay and went to fit it but the actual assembly looks like I am missing something and the pulley internal diameter (16.88mm) is larger than the diameter of the tensioner assembly (11.84mm). See photos below

There is a thread inside the tensioner which I am guessing has something to do with how the pulley is retained onto it. What I would like to know is if I've been given the incorrect pulley and what parts am I missing from the assembly. It is from an 99 GU RD28 Engine

Cheers,

Cam

It looks like the bearing is for a differant model.

I would take both bits to a bearing place and see if they can supply you a bearing that will fit.

You will need a couple of thick washers and a bolt that will sandwich the silver part of the bearing.

When the bearing died on my GQ, I pulled the bearing and went to a bearing place - it was $12 for a replacement bearing.

That pulley is for a 4.2 not 2.8

If you are correct the bearing you need is a 6306-2RS. Which has a 17 mm inside diameter.

Cheers guys for the feedback. Managed to find a replacement from a wreckers for $40. Nissan wanted $225 for one. Wasn't in a rush to fix it so was happy to search around.

Take your one into any bearing place and they will probably have one on the shelf with the right pulley prefitted and everything. They certainly did for my TD42! For not much more than $40 from memory.
