My ZD30(DDTi) 2953 engine has never run properly since purchased, ( Jan 14). It prefers to perform in limp mode after 20- 30 minutes. First VDC & Skid lights stayed on,Nissan replaced Common Rail Pipe and Relief Valve then injector pipes and No 4 Injector. Still goes into Limp Mode but Malfunction Light Came on for a few days (not Water in filter) Nissan is going to replace EG Valve now. Should the MAF sensor be cleaned as well, I am lost in the modern engines. I might see if my trade in has been sold yet, its a 93 Ford Maverick, the 4.2 Nissan motor had no turbo or electronics or problems. Just as well I have 12 months warranty left. Sorry for the whinge, who else can I tell, not my Missus of 43 years.

Welcome mate.
Tis a shame when this happens.
The engines in modern cars are still quite simple? They just have more sensors and electronics to run them..
Hopefully they sort the issue soon..

Hi Mate,
Very interesting, I have a gu 8 DX as well with same problem, however my VDC and Skid Lights have for no apperent reason stopped coming on and the computer is showing now that everything is fine. It is going back to Mr Nissan tommorow for another warranty issue and I will raise it with them again.
It just makes no sense why the lights would stop coming on when I haven't done anything to fix it?
Will post back my findings.

Replace the ECU relay with the aircon one to test, I think under passenger side
and yes the MAF needs cleaning on a regular basis, causes heaps of performance problems
plus depending on history bad earths cause a heap of problems on there own
EGR pipes are known to warp on CRi motors, most here have blocked their EGR

Cheers, but the simple applies to me, I will improve I hope. The earth theory sound good hit some heavy rain and deep puddles a bit hard before the malfunction light came on for a few days. Nissan are replacing the EG Valve tomorrow.

Lets hope that fixes it for you John .... don't despair, as there are thousands of these running around quite well ....
I am sure that they will get to the bottom of it, and for your sake, I hope it is sooner rather than later.

Thankyou, I have learned about EG Valves, MAF Sensors, now I can add ECU'S to the list. With all the good advice at this site, I should be able to drive Nissan service nuts, at least until my warranty runs out, thanks again.
