Hey how r you just wondering if any1 knows how the lock barrel in the drivers side door is held in the door? I just went and got something out of my Gq patrol , locked the door and went to to pull out and the entire lock barrel came with it and I can't seem to get it to stay in there now , I mean it doesn't fall completely out but pops out about an inch and just flops around , can any1 tell me how they supposed to be held in

Well I would assume its the same as my GU. On the inside of the door skin there is a U shaped metal clip that has bent arms and it is pushed around the door lock and behind the door skin. Kinda hard to explain...Likely the U clip has just dropped out.

yeh mate...you have to take off the door trim....there is a flat clip that slides in behind the lock after you push it all the way into the hole in the door..it is probably now down in the bottom of the door...just feel around with your hand...they can be a bit stiff or hard to push back in by hand so just start it into the recessed part on the lock cylinder and you can tap it in with te smallest hammer you can get in there ...

X3. Similar style clip which holds the flexi Brake hoses to brackets..
You'll probably want a good pair of pliers and some crc..

Hey, I found the clip and went to reinstall it just now but have found that the bottom tab on the lock barrel has broken off! I also found the broken off tab, I want to pull the lock barrel out completely to see if there is something I could do but I don't know how the lock barrel actually comes out there is a rod coming g off the back of it but I don't know how to remove it, does any1 know how to??? The manual doesn't describe how

As a quick fix you can try a hose clamp around the barrel

the little plastic piece you seeon the rod will push off the rod...it is only clipped on the rod from one side...when unclipped from the rod it will swing away to allow you to pull the rod out from the lock barrel....this normally when you remove the flat clip to remove the barrel but yours is already off....I wouldn't bother mucking around with a quick fix to the lock barrel....better to invest in a complete set of barrels and keys for all the doors....I just bought those sonex ones ...they comein a set of 3 ....from ebay...cheers
and that return piece on the clip faces towards the inside of the door...just in case you were not aware
