Hi guys
I have a 1995 GQ Nissan Patrol, I have a manual but it doesn't show where the plug is to drain the fuel tank, some how some fine grit has gotten into the tank and it needs to be drained and cleaned out. As at the moment starting the truck is not good. I have changed the fuel filter and that helped but still need to drain the tank.

regards David

Gday mate welcome aboard. Jump over to the intros and say gday, something we ask everyone to do.

I would think you need to remove the tank to effectively clean it out of foreign material

the only way to clean your tank properly will be to remove it,wash it out and fit it back in.Yep been there done that.

David,

How full is the tank?

If it is fairly full, then you may want to pump some into a gerry can, or syphon it out before you drop the tank

Pull up the carpet in the rear and there's a plate with 4 bolts that provides access to the fuel tank. Then you can remove the sender/level unit and gain access to within the tank. There's a drain plug on the right side of the tank, just gotta go have a look.

Here's a photo of my tank when I cleaned it up and painted it. It's upside down, so you can see the drain plug.

When I tried to unscrew tank mount bolts I broke one.
So, my tank still wasn't washed and without one bolt LOL.
