Like 3D I have an Autron as well in my '99 fitted by prev owner.
I believe Autron all but insist on dealer install but could be wrong.

Prev aftermarket CC's I have fitted have all been Command AP series.
They are simple to install yourself, work well and I never had one play up.
Indeed I would all but swear Autron and Command use the same servo

Mine was installed by an authorised dealer which was a radio/audio install place,
Total was $700AU installed from memory

It's been suggested the ap60 unit off eBay is a good bit of kit.

A few members run it here.
Looks simple enough.
But is for older cable throttle cars..

As you have the 3.0 Litre Di, the Autron Cruise Control unit is one of the ones you could use, but they do say that it needs to installed and programmed by an expert using their Tool
http://www.autron.com.au/pages/Auscruise/Drive-by-Wire.php

but then again they have an International Sales Page ..... I'm a little confused by their instructions ... :frown:

I have used the Autron Unit, and it was fantastic.

The other alternative would be to track down a Factory fitted unit ....
