Gday gday im in need if advice and help.
Im looking at buying a patrol in never owned a 4wd drive as im more bogan lol and into burnouts and burnouts. Am selling my beloved HQ TONNER to buy a patrol to strt getting out n about fishing camping and the rest. I am looking at a 2001 4.5 liter petrol ti wagon with 228,000 on clock. And a 2000 2.8 liter turbo deisel with 260,000 on clock. Both asking about $12000. Im looking at spending about $12000. So any advice will help like is that too many kms to be paying that much or is that a good price i really have no idea lol so feel free to take piss outa me then help me out.

12K sounds about the ball park figure, but seems steep, do they have the extra fruit? winch bulbar ect ect?

If thats the case dont buy a 2.8 you'll near cry, they are gutless as, I bought a 2000 ST wagon 3litre for $7K with a lot of goodies, might pay to shop around cracker

The 2.8 turbos ain't that bad with a decent exhaust and tune.
And a dam lot more efficient than a 4.5L petty..

Shop around mate, test drive heaps.

Got a 2.8 and happy, yeh not the fastest off the mark but it gets me from A to B. I quite enjoy the 80-100km/h on the roads, gives us all a chance to sight see while driving.

ditto for me catchinjack, my 2.8 will cruise all day and it's reasonably fuel efficient. i feel like king of the road when i'm driving her.
