Looks like a twin motor high mount..

Yes looks like a twin motor setup, some guys go to extraordinary lengths with those high mounts and spend big dollars on them.

As suggested its a twin motored hi mount warn 4278, surprised you've never seen one before,
Not for your daily driver. did you see the equal distance turbo manifold, these are a work of art.
These winch motors are 24 volts and retrieve rope like you are in low one, make a 12,000lb
low mount look sick. going down again soon will get pics of more goodies.

Good for petrol motors not as good as a DTS manifold for diesels.

This guy had a GQ turbo 4.8 producing 335RwKw on 37s
He Built Trent Leens rig which was an extended SWB petrol Patrol,
Trent won most events out there when the Vic winch challenge was strong.
I think he even won the Outback challenge, The shorty was extended around 300mm
It was lime green. we are lucky in Vic we have some great drivers , Huddy comes to mind
in the Narva Patrol{blue}

Your comparing a twin motor high-mount to a stock low-mount there I hope. Try comparing a modified low-mount to a modified high-mount and see which one looks sick then. :p

I first saw this triple motor winch setup in 2007 on Russell's SWB GQ, unfortunately his car was not competing at the event we were at at the time due to the fact that one of his pistons decided to let go. He did however give me a demonstration of his winch, which was, even back then uncomprehendingly fast.

that Green truck did he buy it from a guy in Melbourne awesome set up on the winch
nothing like $1500 plus worth of batteries to get a winch turning, love it
Warren from Flamin Fabs did an awesome double motor high mount,
not sure what he's up to these days, top bloke

sure does mate, and still gets driven like a hire car, i.e. abused.
Although I though it originally made 380kw @ wheels from when Andrew owned it?

It may well have he and Birdy spared no expense eh just spoke to him and had a chuckle.
I can remember following him out to the Wandin 4wd shop in the wet spinning them up on the freeway.
certainly was a beast, forgotten his name but he had the first 350 supercharged motor and told me he built to win the Outback challenge
and did first year, now that's confident, where Birdie did his 2 wheel balance in the pre log he hit a bump and moved his engine back snapping off an oil hose
creating a small fire, Now Birdie there was one crazy driver AC as well lol remembering it all

Let's stay on topic aye I do believe this thread is titled 4.2 and 3.0, not 4.8 and winch truck thread. Speaking of which don't start a diesel related thread and then harp on again about yours mates turbo petrol.
Now on topic. The exhaust manifold pictured is no good for our td42, the pipes are just to long. We need the shortest possible route the the turbo possible on a diesel. If anything these manifolds are a backward step for the gains we are trying to achieve.
The intake manifold volume wise is better than a standard manifold but the entry is terrible and no good for flow. Air doesn't like changing direction and that manifold has the air running straight into a wall.
As for the other pics it's all been seen before. Winches I have seen a quad motor high mount now that was cool. Radiators yay it's a PWR. Then engines are doing any good sitting on the floor are they lol.
You have heaps of time to sit on here, use some of that and research as to what can actually be done with our humble td42 believe me there is heaps out there.
