5 speed auto gearbox for 3 litre TD

Hi. I'm a newbie. I've a 2000 auto 3 litre TD Patrol bought new. Has anyone ever or does anyone know, if I can get & fit a 5 speed auto to replace my 4 speed auto? Will it affect off road ability/power. I see they have a 5 speed auto in the GU 4.8 petrol patrols. thx Anthony

I sure it'll fit but what extras you'll need to do I not sure , might need a new ECU,
I was thinking of sequential paddles for the auto, but they are the wrong style bummer

When you get a chance pop over to the intros, just something the forum asks of us all

I am sure that you could do it, but why would you really want to ....... it would involve major changes, and modification, and you would be the guinea-pig for everyone else.....

You would never make your money back ......

Thx for the replies. Changing ECUs or upgrading diffs etc never crossed my mind. Mine being a 2000 model, its just weird nissan still only have a 4sp auto in the 3ltTD
