Those guys do great work,

They are a Agusta specially built in Italy for search and rescue
Twin jet engines
1500 lt fuel , uses around 400 kg per hour , most of their work is emergency medical transport , they have a doctor and paramedic on board and three crew , two pilots and a tea bag ( the bloke that gets out on the winch ) the co pilot doubles as a winch operator . The brother in started as a tea bag and worked his way to pilot ,

Was looking at a program, run through Philidaelphia ?, in the US, to complete a 3mth course on the Air Ambulance there.... Unfortunately, program fell through. Put in to the too hard pile. :(

Would be my dream job as a paramedic.

I could handle the rescue and the flying bit , but the scraping of people off the roads is not for me , and the story they told of a bloke and a beetroot shredder and body parts , no thanks !

Mate, the first sudden death I attended was what was left of a young guy who decided to stand in the path of an oncoming train... Picked up what was left of him over 300m of track and that is by no means the worst. Sometimes my job sucks.

I forgot to add, all of the guys I have met on the choppers are amazing and fully deserve the rep they have. It is what inspires me...
