Went to Mr Nissan yesterday to scratch me nuts got quoted the above price for each .

Get it right Gary went to see if I could get some wheel nuts told me the price.Asked the nice female attendant if my personals were attended to as part of the price. She got all red faced but took it all in good humour god bless her.

$8.65 shit. Walked out the door trying to do the sums 24 x 8.65 == got all fuzzy as a scheming thought came to mind. What if I went into the car yard an knocked off the wheel nuts on a brand new ute sittin there. The ute is up on stands all nice an handy for me. Could borrow the mates battery operated impact wrench and wammo. Gary you can be a cunning little crunt when you put your mind to it.

The only thing there I have found to be cheap is the crappy cup of coffee they gave me.

Gary,

Can't remember the exact price, but I think that I bought a set from PatrolApart for $12 or similar.

I love Nissan prices, as sometimes I actually go in there thinking I am going to get ripped, and I get pleasantly surprised when I am not. Everything you think will be expensive is cheap as, and everything that should be cheap costs an arm and a leg.....

Yeah I think you might be right. Went in a while ago armed with a vin number from another Patrol to get a price on gear stick surround. Got a price of 56 bucks thought that was reasonable. Go figure

Crazy spare parts prices don't just belong to Nissan. About eight months ago went to Toyata to chase up an original clutch fan for a 2H they wanted $830.00 for one. The sales person who gave me the price had a smug look on his face an some smart arse comments I just felt like reachin across the counter an give him a bit of a facial if you know what I mean.

Anyway went to a spare parts place that I frequent and told them my tale of woe. After doing some tickin an flickin on the compooter they told me they could get an original Jap one for $340.00 but would take a few weeks to get it from the land of the risin sun. Said no fluckin worries an promptly went back to Toyota an got the f--k wit who had served me an told him to stick his spare parts where the sun don't shine.

Gee I can be a bit of a crunt sometimes. Told the missus my story at the time and got a flick behind the ears for being a dick with a temper. Went to the man cave an sulked for a while thinkin if I had done the wrong thing. After a while thinkin things over I realised I had done the wrong thing should have slapped him.:D

How much would it cost to buy a patrol from the spare parts department? Surely someone has the time, morbid curiosity, and system access to answer the hypothetical question?

I would think it would be cheaper to buy a Bugatti Veyron

Remembered readin an article yonks ago someone had done the figures on an early model commy and to build up one from spare parts was more than 3 times the cost of a newie at the time.

There are only 2 Nissan dealers in the whole country of Costa Rica, so I thought I was going to get ripped a new one when I took my new purchase into one for a complete inspection. The mechanic worked under it for 3 1/2 hours checking everything out and the service manager worked out an estimate (mostly just bushings, gaskets and a caliper pin). I waited for the bill for this inspection and it turned out to be no charge. Ehen I took the Patrol back for the repairs after the parts came in, the final bill was $300 under the estimate. Go figure.
