Just had a bloke come into the shop saying his car was making a noise for about a week, he looked at the wheel yesterday because the brake pad FELL OUT and he thinks its the wheel bearing, he tried to drive it but the car won't go anymore......

So we organized a tow truck got it on a hoist and pulled the front wheels off, the D/S/F shocker fell out of its seat coz it snapped the pillow top mount (don't ask how coz i truly don't know lol ) 4097640977

It gets better tho, the P/S/F made all of us say WTF!! How did this guy not kill himself or anyone else??? I'll let the pictures do the talking.......40978409794098040981409824098340984
Damage report: stub axle and hub assembly destroyed, drive shaft outer cv seized, brake caliper, cradle and disc rotor mauled.


I had one almost as good as this years ago, a customer brought in his ef fairmont coz he said the brakes started to grind which was true but so was half the piston in the rear caliper and the disc rotor was worn down from 10mm down to 3mm o.O

Wow, George, that is taking extended maintenance periods to a new level. Our local wrecker has a brake disc and caliper on display. The disc's internal fins are exposed.

Yeah mate we get like a trade newsletter every so often from the VACC and one time it had all these sorts of things, worn rotor to the cooling fins, v8 with only 7 cylinders lol and some other things i can't remember haha.

The only bit left of the double row wheel bearing is 1 of the inner races on the hub 40988 the top part of this hub

So this guy even knew it was a brake pad that fell out and still thought you could drive it.
We all complain about old drivers or young drivers, but morons like this are the real danger.

That looks like the wrong brake caliper or wrong disk? On the phone so a little thought but something is not for that car!! The RWC mechanic is up for the repair though I would have thought if it was in date?

Had to send the big guy[MEGO] a PM to see if he needed bail money, but twas not be just another big bald dude WTF

Yeah mate wrong size disc, the rotor's diameter is too small for the breaking system but both sides are like that.

The legals go a little something like this, you call your rta office in our case its vic roads, they tell you to get another inspection done then to go back to them. They contact the original issuer of the rwc and tell them to repair it to spec, if he doesn't you take him to court then vic roads will deal with him. I know this bloke wont coz he's an imbecile lol
