Well I did the right thing and went out with clunk to try out his newly purchased gq, I Had been greeting a bit of a bang in the hubs occasionally when in 4wd and turning, well today it let go a bang and then there was a whirling sound it think it's something to do with the locking hubs. My hope is it's something simple like the hub spline and not the axle spline. I'm share there will be plenty of others with a story to tell.

I was dune bashing, when there was an almighty bang from underneath, sounded like the front end somewhere.
Stopped to have a look (a bit later) and couldn't see anything amiss apart from a suspicious looking drag-link. On close inspection it was fine.
Someone called my up later to say that something was hanging off the back. Rear stabiliser link had sheared off - driver side - that's passenger side for you lot :)
Just used a couple of cable ties to hold it up out of the way for now.

When Fry did that I did my alternator. Now sitting here waiting on a towey to pick the old girl up. Reckon I found the only bog left in existence over summer and it breaks the bloody car

I would not have thought you need a tow truck for an alternator, if you have a charged battery you should be good for a few hours constant driving on one batter, I did 9hours with two fully charged battery and no alternator

Turns out it was water in the connectors and after 3 hours of waiting and piss farting about the car started and ran but now I have this speedo drama40968
Think I'll have to get under the car when I have time in the week and pull the speedo cable out and see if I can clean it and sort it out

Scared myself with the check engine light. Have been through a few creeks lately, and therefore have been doing the check fluids and regrease Swivel hubs thing a lot. Car has been parked for a few weeks, with today being the finalisation of maintenance. So a test drive was due. Turned it around in the drive, only to notice the check engine light. Luckily I did a quick google, and drained a few mm from the fuel filter. Then it went away.

Yes if the car is running fine and no codes are showing it's usually water in the fuel
