my speedometer light is not working. how do I fix this? I have tried to remove the seethru panel in front of it but the steering wheel seems to be in the way.

Hi mate, I have moved this out of the intro thread and into the auto electrical thread.

Although its not mandatory how about heading back to the intro section and telling us a bit about yourself and your rig

Cheers

What truck - model?

On the GQ you remove the cluster - flip and you can acess the lights from behind

I haven't tried Mac, but you can try removing the lower kick panel under the steering column, to see if you can shine a torch in and reach the back of the instrument cluster.

I don't think you can, and I think you actually need to unscrew the plastic panels surrounding the cluster itself, and remove the cluster from the vehicle. After all that it is easy, as the globes are in a little twist-in globe holder.

Try not to touch the Glowing end of the globes with your fingers if you can - hold it with a rag so it doesn't get any oils from your fingers on it. It should be OK, as it isn't high heat, but this can cause some halogen globes to blow, so don't take the risk, as it is too hard to pull out twice....

Is it just the speedo light or has the light gone behind all the other gauges as well (tacho, fuel and temp)?

It might be a faulty dash light dimmer switch.

My speedo light went aswell. To make it easier I unbolted the steering wheel bracket from underneath and the whole assembely lowered out of the way so I could get the cluster out. I changed mine to LED blue color which look great
