Hi all,
new to the forum, and as you can suggest from my nick, i'm comming from the Toyota section.
my ride is a 1998 GR II (so they're called here in Austria), 158tkm on the clock, a little bit of bush striping, but aside from that in good shape. Got in touch with Patrols back in 2007 during my trip from Brisbane to Cape York. Was travelling in a 78 series rental, met a lot of
nice people and got pulled out by a Patrol owner when i was bogged (skinny tyres) after crossing the Mitchel River on my way to Laura.
Mods so far:
Snorkel
2,5 inch lift
blocked EGR
fixed hot start issue (thanks to this forum!)
Bullbar
13000lbs winch
Regards
Michael

@happygtu - most of bush striping happend in Romania & on the Balkan
@Stropp - route was Brisbane - Frazer - Munduberra - Emerald - Charters Towers Mt. Isa - Hughenden - Undura Ntl. Prk. - Laura - Lakefield - Coen - The Tip - all the way back and down to Cooktown - Cairns - Brisbane.
Awesome Country, great people, stunning wildlife. Would love to visit Australia again, but renovating our house & family comes first...

G'day Michael, welcome aboard mate. Is yours a long or short wheel base?
Sorry it's hard to see properly on the phone

Welcome mate, surely the best forum on the net. If you need it, you can get it, if you want to know it, just ask it.
If you want to find it, go to the search bar for a universe of information.
Enjoy the sights and sounds of the greatest show on earth.

@Clunk - g'day mate, it's a LWB.
Nothing against, but i personally don't like the shorties.
My first 4WD was a 1989 Hilux LN65 dual cab. Lifted, locked, turboed.
Second one was a LN105 dual cab with 2LT-2 (parts from a 4-Runner, did the mod myself). OME suspension, ARB bullbar, snorkel , winch...
last one was a KZJ77 (70 series Prado with the 1KZ-T) with all the goodies.
When i met my missus, we soon decided to buy a house, so the Prado had to go.
Tried to get a Hilux again, to have a reliable car during the works, but itīs getting difficult to get a good one over here these days.
So after a break of 4 years i decided it's time to have a 4by again. And as mentioned earlier, i was very impressed by the Patrol who snatched me
out, when i was bogged in your lovely country. :)
So i gave it a go and bought the Patrol from a friend, who ownes a 80 series Cruiser now.
I'm really happy with it, althought it's just the mighty 2.8, love the sound of the 6-potter.
And i have to take a look behind the dash sooner or later - there might be a power box behind, cause it pulls away a lot better then my old Prado...
Cheers
Michael

Hi all,
has been a while and well, only minor things were done on the Patrol as my Dad passed away
2 weeks before X-mas.
So i'll just post a few pics from our winter season (had to buy new winter tyres and snow chains),
and the driving lights and radio i installed.
Enjoy ;-)

Hi all,
little bit of an update. 3 inch Lovells HD coils and shocks, adjustable panhards and drag link, longer brake lines,
new glow plugs, new intercooler and intake manifold, new exhaust thrown onto the Trol
Edit: forgotten to mention the extended sway bar links.
A few crappy pics taken with the phone, sorry for that.
ProVent200 to be installed over the weekend.
