Ok as the title says I'm after some new sliders as the tjm steps/ brush bars are useless an I'm sick of them getting crushed, bent and crushing my panel in the process.

So who makes the toughest sliders ideally with brush bars but not essential though but I don't mind modifying them with my tjm brush bars if they are sliders only.

Edit.. May have put this thread in the wrong area lol

Megatexture,

I dont run brush bars for that very reason......I think that you actually get more damage rather than less due to sticks and branches to say the least.

I dont know of any commercially available sliders with brush bars, as the ARB / TJM stuff are not sliders......and cause more damage than without them when hitting on rocks / stumps

You could easily modify your brush bars to suit most of the available rock sliders, as you could weld on a socket which the bar slides into for easy removal / repair,, or simply just weld them on.

I like the Superior Rock Sliders or the Millweld units, as a starting point

Apparently Millweld sliders are not all that strong.

Ye I've never had any damage to the front end and I'm sure the brush bars have saved me on many occasion so I do want to retain them or replace if I can find a suitable all in one unit that's strong enough.
All the damage I've sustained is on the door sills from comeing down hard on the step

get a custom made slider instead of a pipe step from any engineering shop,
Surdex steel sell a 4" x 1" section steel they use for cattle crushes that I thought
would make a great sill protector

Raaslar do a nice slider with brush bar for about a $1000
But I think you need to remove the lower back gaurd which I am not that keen on.

That is why I prefer the Millweld sliders...I did ask Raslarr if they would modify the end to suit the existing plastic....

Mine are bolsys ones. Very solid. Hes out at Ipswich. I have dropped mine hard on them a couple times with no damage other then some paint off the slider.

I dont know of any real sliders that come with brush bars but bolsys does general fab as well so i guess he could make some up??

I can grab a couple picks of them if you like

Drc fabrications in Benalla do a great job.

Nice bloke, 1 man show, drives a gq patrol and the welding is spot on. Very competitive too.

XLR8 Fabrications in Perth make the best sliders around.

Definately solid. XLR8 makes them strong. I think the car will fall apart before the sliders get damaged

If you have a, or access to a welder, make your own! I did and made a solid slider but stuck it out a bit further to use as a side step aswell. also helps keep your car off the rock/ bank/ stump etc. 50 mm internal diameter 3mm wall.

I wouldn't trust my welding enough for how strong I want it and don't have a pipe bender.

I think the plastic bit you are referring to has Long been ripped off, I'm not sure why nissan put them on in the first place lol

I only tacked mine and got someone who can weld to do it properly! I also bought bends as the pipe bender wouldn't get them tight enough for me. Just did exactly the same with my rear bar.

I put the grip tape on, it's awesome for getting in the car when the sliders are wet, cause they are slippery as all hell, but it's a pain in the arrrs when getting out. If you slide out and graze your leg on it, it will make you bleed. You do get used to it tho.

So yours has 3 mounting points? I would like 3 as a minimum as mine only have two atm in these pics you can see how the sill is getting squished it’s no longer rounded out its now inverted the other direction. I’m surprised they aren’t gusseted on the supports/ mounts

Yea mate, 3 mounting points. They are gusseted on the mounting points as well. They've also got cut outs for a high lift jack. Ive got a 5mm skid plate under mine, it stops a lot of dirt and rocks hitting the car, but it does collect a fair bit. Just another thing to clean out. Over all im very happy with them. I have dropped my car on to solid rock hard numerous times and they are still in good shape.
