Hey fellas late last year I noticed clunky clunky when i turn sharp off-road on both sides anyway got 2 whole new good condition shafts so chucked passenger side one in ran out of time tho. No more clunky when off-road left but right still clunks gona chuck drivers side one in Friday when I fly bak from work. My question is why would both cvs go at once not one at a time? And if still clunks with new one in (really hope this ain't the case) what could the problem be? Car has lift and tyres so not suprised the cvs went

I'm no mechanic but are you sure its your CV's and not your hubs playing up. What was the condition of the cv you replaced? Do you have auto locking hubs or manual hubs?

Hub are fine it's fine off-road til I take sharp corner then clunk had diff stripped bout September doing axle seals swivel hubs wheel bearings full flushed diff and put new blue Penrite in it one cv I did rip out when replaced passenger was pretty sore state but they have had a bit of a hard time off-road since I Did all swivel hubs etc hoping to smash new one in Friday camping saturday

They were probably both put in at the same time - they definitely were when it was built - just coincidence more then likely. 99% of the time the clicking at full lock will be CV. Otherwise it could be a tooth chip or something along those lines in the diff but that noise would be constant and obviously alot faster.

Cv's are proberly one of the most neglected items on any car.

Out of sight, she'll be right.
pain to remove to service re-grease.
and that's proberly their downfall.

M2cw, your question about why both wore out at same time.
build quality is equal, and GQ is getting a little older now, nothing lasts forever.
My Mav GQ turns 20 this yr, Happy Birthday to you.
