Hey guys,

Looking for/need a rear diff centre for my Troll.
H260 4.111:1

Any help would be great, ASAP, although if I can't find anything, will be booking in for new.
So if anyone knows what I should (or shouldn't) be paying for new, please let me know.

Cheers,

Evo

New will be insane! I understand that the H260 is as tough as guts and generally don't break and most wreckers will have them laying around as there is not a big call for them.

I'd be on the phone to wreckers in the East and get them to send you one.

New am looking at $1000 + $500 labour (with some change) fitted.
Labour is about the same for a used unit.

Will be having to borrow some $$$ either way because recent work on the old girl has already emptied the pockets...

Just rang a few (a LOT) of wreckers...
Prices from $650 to $750, and go up from there...

Might be worth investing in new stuff...

Cheeky bastards!
The $1500 was for a second hand unit just swapped over...
Brand new from Nissan (ex Japland as none in Oz) $3600...
Can get mine rebuilt with 2 year 40000km warranty for $1200 drive in, drive out...

What do you all reckon?

Jump on Face Book and post a wanted add in one of the Patrol Buy swap and sell pages and see what you get. $250 would be big bux I reckon for a centre in Vic.

What do you reckon freight costs would be to get it here though?

$50 to $100 I reckon. Assuming you only want the diff centre.

@Evo,
A set of front and rear GU diffs from a 4.5 have appeared on the GQ owners group on Facebook. Rear complete H260, front naked. 4.1 ratio. $500 for both from memory.
EDIT: $350 including gearbox.

Found what I thought was a winner, complete H260 centre, but 4.3 ratio...
Would this be worth getting and then putting my 4.1 ratio set into it?

Scratch the diff, not the problem...

I know you said to scratch the diff, but if you could get complete centres etc it is a simple swap and can do it yourself one Saturday arvo, not to technical. Obviously if you start swapping pinions and ring gear only and its another whole kettle of fish.

What was the problem??

Hey sooty,

It's trying to get a complete rear centre with the right ratio that is proving a tough task.
Was worried about just swapping gears. Didn't think it would be so simple.
I have posted the issue

Still not sorted and have had 'Professionals' look at it, but no 2 answers are the same...
