Hi all,

Total newby to these forum thingies but had 4WD's since I first got my licence (a long time ago) and want to share ideas and pick the brains of fellow Patrol owners.

Bought the GU new in '07 and have set it up for long-distance touring, which we have done heaps of - and plan to do heaps more of.
Personal number plates "4TREKN OZ" on Patrol coz thats what we do, and "8 Strait" on the camper to honour the Maroons State of Origin win last year (we may be West Aussies but we barrack for the Queenslanders in that series always).

Engine: 3.0 Common rail TD, Chip-It fully adjustable chip, Manta 3" stainless from turbo back, Dawes valve set-up on turbo (controls boost), turbo timer, EGT monitors
Underneath: Old Man Emu Nitrocharger Sports all round, 2" lift, Nolathane bushes all round, 33.5" x 12.5" BFG Mud Terrains
Electrical: Dual-battery system, Redarc Smart solenoid system, Redarc 25A BCDC charger set-up, heavy duty rear connections for Anderson plug, electric brakes for campertrailer and rear-view camera, 160 watt bi-fold solar panel set-up with Roc Solid solar control system
Outside: 147 litre Long Ranger Ali fuel tank (with 30 lt sub); Tracklander ali roof-rack with boat rack and 2.5 metre side awning, rear and side LED flood lights, high-def rear camera system (that connects to the camper trailer as well); Steel roo bar with 110W spotties, Warn XT9500 winch and GME 8ft broomstick UHF aerial.
Inside: Michelles Sacs seat covers all round, Kenwood sound system with 450W amp under front seat, 600W inverter under front seat, pillar-pod with guages for Turbo Boost and EGT, Outback roller drawers in rear, ARB drop fridge slide with hard-wired 40 litre Engel, LED rear lighting set-up, GME under-dash mounted UHF 40 channel, GPS navigation system.

We have a Aussie built Southern Cross "Bush Boss" camper trailer which we bought in '09 and have racked up almost 70,000 kilometres with it already - all powder-coated, independent trailing arm suspension, full kitchen, dual battery system, solar, genny, LED's, electric brakes, big annex, spare room, huge extra shade sail set-up. Not many camper trailers in this country would ever do that amount of k's and this unit is still in great shape - highly recommended!

Anyway thats our rig (the wife is a 4WD nut as well so there is NO handbrake in our household - lucky or what!).

Working in Broome these days so plenty of 4WD destinations and adventures there - on holidays in Qld at present and heading back to Broome in a few weeks.

Cheers

Welcome to the forum Loz. Bloody hell man that's one nice set up you have there, shame about the number plate on your trailer, I hope it falls off somewhere;);)

Thanks for the comments firm351, its a great set-up and it gets used heaps. The number plate is getting a good reception at present coz we are in Qld but we had a poor response when in NSW over Xmas. Ah well - roll on the next Origin series! Everyone loves the car plate though.
