I have been looking at diesel fuel additives for my patrol.
After a bit of searching/reading here some products seem to come to the top of the list.

Chemtech Diesel Power Fuel Additive
Morey's Diesel Smoke Killer & Fuel Conditioner
Flash Lube Diesel Conditioner
Nulon Diesel Injector Cleaner
Wynn's Diesel Injector Cleaner

From memory I think I used Flash Lube in my old GQ occasionally but not positive on this.

Patrol has done 150,000 Km and to my knowledge has not had any additives through the fuel before. Just had a service and occasionally still get a bit of smoke out the back, not much though.

Looking at above list is there really any big difference in them and if so what would be the better to use.

I used the Wynnes for a while as It was coughing a bit on start up.
Think I used 3 bottles over 3 tankfulls [165] Problem disappeared.
Highly recommend the Wynnes

I use the chemtech with every tank of fuel, I find it works great, my fuel economy has improved and find the patrol sounds quieter and runs a bit smoother, I highly recommend it

TD I thought you used Nulon?

From what I was reading seems like a positive toward Chemtech. Though I couldn't see much difference between Chemtech and Morey's.

I was under the impression from some posts here it did not seem that good. besides according to their web site the closest place I can get it is 300km away. Not going to happen.

will add unless Supercheap local has it..

I use nulon in my Mav. It has 477 000 kms. iv had it since 350 000 and used the nulon about every second or third tank. Dont notice any difference between a tank with it in or not but havent had any troubles. I also use nulon diesel engine treatment in the oil every change.

I used chemtech in my old gq4.2 it did help a little I would see a touch more out of the tank with less smoke. I have also tried liquimoly it might have helped a little with smoke but no noticeable economy change.

Just a question on Diesel additives while we are at it... Is it possible to over dose ?, I mean I don't always measure 100% with what fuel I have in the tank so will putting a bit too much in do any harm. ( I've been using Chemtec).
Thanks
Dan

being that I wear reading glasses. when I do use an additive I just push the bottle and go that's close enough as I don't wear glasses when fuelling. no harm done
