Greetings,
Haven't gotten round to getting the obligatory manual yet and am trying to familiarize myself with whats under the bonnet (97 Coil Cab 4.2 N/A) and wondered if anyone can tell me what the item is in the photo?
Wondering why there is a wiring loom there as well?
Cheers,
Neil

Have you recently purchased and was it like that when you bought it mate? I am on the iPhone and the pic is not great but looks like a middle type switch and an unplugged look plug? If that's right I reckon there was an ARB compressor mounted in the bracket and the previous owner took it with them.
Or post another pic a little closer to the unit and I will have another look mate

just had another look on the computer and i dont think i was right. It looks like the factory mount for the ABS but you dont have ABS. Nissan are renowned for putting in full looms and leaving loose wires and plugs all over the joint. Is that a Vac line going up to the bracket? if so the ABS provision i reckon.

Hi MR,
Correct on just purchased.
Going to have a closer look today. Looks like the line runs to the gearbox/actuator at the rear of the motor? Is this where the Vacuum is usually taken from?

The line steel line will go to your clutch slave cylinder and is another point to bleed fluid from. The plug could be for a fuel filter as I have seen some mounted on that side and attached to that same bracket.
