I've got a 92 gq with 307kms on the clock runs really well still just want to know how many more kms can I do before I do a rebuild and/or when should one be done...
If some one could help me with some info that would be great.

Thanks.
Luke.

Always a good idea to pop up an intro before asking for help mate, it's the polite thing to do............

So first things first, what engine is it?

Hi! Check the working pressure in the cylinders and these figures will give you an answer.

So many factors to take into account but both tb and td motors are known to get over half a million kms if looked after

thanks for filling the forum with crap mate....you know you could have read the rules and welcome a few people in the intro's for the same result..but now we have all your garbage through many posts....best of luck,if you do decide to stick around you'll find out that way more info and advice can be found by being part of this forum for what it was designed for...Not just the manuals...

Only consider a rebuild if it develops faults that indicate a need to rebuild.

high oil use, black smoke.

Its more common to do the heads on the TB42s

Hi! Check the working pressure in the cylinders and these figures will give you an answer.
Not true.On petrol engines only a leak down test will show bore/honing wear without taking the head off and measuring the bore with dial gauge.
Compression test will usually show valve problems. But if valve problems are there you will hear the pops into intake or exhaust.
On diesel may show something about rings wear and bore wear and out off round.
Best way,if you have little to much oil consumption take the head off replace valve guides, valve seals.Get pistons out, check bores, ring gap and this is the way.If no oil consumption...just enjoy it,do not worry so much.

Service intervals, oil type, driving conditions?

My GQ has done about 450,000 kms, get roughly 10litres/100kms if taking it easy and runs pretty good.
I go through about 1 litre of oil every 5,000kms.
IMO I think that's good.
