Has anyone done this? Is it as easy as removing the screws from the lower edges of the assembly? The console I am referring to is the lower one that wraps around the gear levers...
Cheers all, Brian.

Brian,
On the Manual Gearbox Console, there are two visible screws - one on each side of the console at the front, and there is another one underneath the ashtray.....
Undo the screws, and pop it up from the rear first ... easy as.
The only trouble I had was undoing the knobs off the gear lever and transfer lever, as they must be loctited on. You need to take these off if you want to take the console right out of the way

Hi Coldcomfort,
Yeap easy removed mine twice now, I've installed the UHF in there.
Did it about 12 months ago but no dramas, remove all visible screws, also one in the ash tray from memory and a couple at the back. Sorry I don't have any more details but had no issues at all so go for it.
Mine is an auto.

Thanks guys, I am looking at installing a UHF speaker in there. The UHF is one of those TX3540S GME radios. The main unit is mounted under the nav unit in the double din dash hole. Once again thanks heaps.

While you have it all apart I highly recommend moving the sub tank light from the stupid spot that is an puts it and fit it flat on the gear stick surround.

You mean the sub tank switch? Good idea. It is a pain to reach down there and push it... Thanks..

Sorry year the switch. Not sure what the 2012 has as far as switches on that gear lever support panel but if there is room extend the loom wires and move the switch. I did it about 2 years ago and smile every time I pressit, make soooo much sense there. Stupid factory position
