Well, I just got myself a bargain folks!

Heard through the grapevine that an old fella in my wider church was selling his patrol. A quick phone call later, and it was sold to me! (Well dad technically, but I'm gunna but it back off him!)

It's a gq td42, dealer optioned turbo, with.........

Only 180,000 kms!!!!!!!!!

It's stock as a rock, and in immaculate condition.

Picked this beauty up for 8 grand!

I'm flying to Sydney on the long weekend to get it! Can't wait!!!

Will post pics when I have it in my possession!

Cheers!

Have some big plans for it, it's going to take me a while to get the cash for everything I want to do, but when I'm done it's going to be one awesome rig (I hope)

But you couldn't ask for a better platform to build off.

I know the guy who owns it, and he is one of those people who polishes his car every weekend. It's seen no off-road, and I know it hasn't been flogged.

I can guarantee if it had made it onto the web it would have sold within the hour. Cleanest I've seen in a long time!

The only problem is, it's white!

Cheers!

Not even driven every Sunday! I know the person I am buying it off, and he looks after his cars immaculately,

It has been driven three times in the last year, and he starts it up every week for a bit.

Can't wait for Friday!

Well, update time. After a lot of umming and ahhing about whether or not to Keep or sell the patrol (financial reasons, I never want to sell this thing) I finally got backpayed for months of work, all up about 6 grand, so that has meant I can definitely afford it! Only problem is i still haven't completely paid it off, and when dad gave me the loan, his one condition was i couldn't buy anything for it until i had paid it off completly (Incentive to pay it off quickly if you will.)

As such, the only mod has been to put a steel bar on it, as I straight swapped my alloy one with a mate who was selling his gq. (and a new stereo cause the stock one was crap, don't tell dad)

But I have done a but of fourbying again (so good to take it for a run, as my other one has been off the road for so long that i haven't been for a run in months!)

Anyway, thought i'd share some pics.
And a planned mod list once i get the coin.

Take it to a diesel specialist, have the turbo overhauled and the engine Tuned
4" lift
33's or 35's, havent decided yet
Millweld winch bar
Winch (Preferably warn, but $$$)
Rear quarter chop/rear bar
Sliders/Brushbars
Dual Batterys
UHF
Snorkel (If we have enough 3''s/s pipe left over at work from a job we are doing i may have one soon)
Fridge
Rear drawers
cargo barrier
comfier seats
boost and egt gauges
3" Straight through exhaust
lightbar/spotties

and much more i cant think of at the moment. You know How it goes

Well, I finally paid it off. Thank you tax time. Mods will be coming as fast as cash will allow. In the meantime it rained on the weekend so I went for a mud run. Lots of fun. Top of the mod list is a set of recovery hooks for the front, as I got stuck, only to discover I don't have one. Thankfully I only needed a very slight pull. Two guys on the snatch was enough. Didn't even need to hook up another fourby. I had only run out of traction, not sunk into a bog hole. Then one other guy got majorly stuck in a bog hole. Glad I didn't try it as he was running 37s Cheers

Put the lift in last night. Was supposed to be a 4" but looks closer to a 5 or 6. Also thrown a set of 33" muddies in. Planning a good run tomorrow to test it all out!

Yes I'm hoping it will settle.

Still have to get an adjustable draglink, have cheated and pulled the steering wheel off to adjust it for now. Also have to fit longer lower control arms.

Was a bit higher than I was wanting but my mates jealous so that's all that counts.

Only sold the wagon as I was offered the right money. I hadn't put it up for sale, it was just sitting there unused. (Loss of license/blown head gasket). Old mate saw it sitting, had a look, told him what was wrong and he gave me cash.

As for the shorty I got a bargain!!

Congrats, now you can go 4WDing with your mate, that has to be a bonus as well.

Nice looking shorty, being a shorty she should be a little better on fuel too. :D
