Well, as DX grunt is shortly about to set sail for her maiden voyage in just over 2 weeks, I thought I'd keep you all up to date.
Trip preparation.
About 2 weeks ago, I set the 3 room tent up, as a dry run. Took me a day and a half, but I eventually won :bananarock:
I thought I'd be smart and buy some water containers. Wanting to save space, I got 5 of those plastic ones that fold down into a neat little package. Worked well, until I dragged one. It got a really really small hole in it. Thought about putting some gaffa tape on it, but for about 13 bucks, ahhh.
Bought a couple of solar showers - his and hers. Now i've got no excuse for running out of hot water. lol . Tried them out too, and they work well.
Loaded the stuff we needed into the back of my truck, and while I was at work my missus had a clean out. "You don't need this, you don't need that". Now it's about 1/2 a ton lighter.
She just doesn't understand the Justin Case philisophy. Ripped my chainsaw, swag, a couple of small eskys (to hold the fish), and a few other things.
We're taking a blow up matress. I've had experiences with them before. Not happy Jannnnnnn.
I'll sneak the swag in just before we pull out of the drive. lol I'm not sleeping on a hard surface or waking up in the middle of the night to pump the bluddy thing up.
Anyway, my new fridge, that arrives on about Tuesday next week, takes up heaps of room, so space will be re-assessed next week. Then I have to get it wired in.
Oh well, until we have our next update, I'll be battoning down the hatches for the cyclone. We may get the tail end of it where I live, too. Don't know yet. Time will tell.
Thanks for reading.
