Hi All, Just putting up some info on another place to look for problems when you have your GQ wipers and washers acting like they are possessed without human interaction.
My GQ 89TD42 had the wipers and washers start going on there own one day after a rather rough rocky hill climb, pulled the fuse at this time and continued.
Later inspection of pumps, earths and wiring revealed that the loom which runs under the battery bay on the drivers side of the vehicle had dropped. Here was the problem, a bolt on the steering box was chafing through about six wires in this loom causing my issues with the wipers. New sections of wire spliced in and wipers work like new again. This was a frustrating experience as it took three different auto electricians to look over the vehicle before this problem was found and fixed.
Just thought this might help someone else out, as you could not see anything wrong when looking from the top with the bonnet open.
