Im in a real hurry to get some to stop the exhaust and transmission heat radiating through the passenger side floor. I neef to get this done by Saturday as we are going away and I forgot to do this.
Who sells this stuff off the shelf in Melbourne.

Go to bunnings and get some sisalation or sound deadener already made in 6" wide stripes in the plumbing depot
6" wide stuff similar to Dyna mat but half the price

Its silver backed with a tar in the centre sort of like flashing.
you could wrap the exhaust with bandage ,or if enough room fashion a heat shield and fix it with hose clamps?

That exhaust wrap stuff is pretty good actually. I have just put some on a section of my exhaust pipe (about 18 inches long) to try and reduce radiated heat affecting my Aux battery beneath the vehicle, and it seems to be working better than I expected. Still a bit early to tell, but my battery was previously registering temps of 37-38 degrees and now has only made it to 30 degrees in the couple of runs I have done with the wrap in place. Might be worth a shot if you can access the exhaust easily enough.

I was in a rush and grabbed 2 metres of wrap from carline mufflers for $20 plus you'll need a couple of stainless clamps for a few bucks each. Cheaper on eBay but if you have no time...

Only trouble with exhaust bandage is it'll rust your pipe earlier than expected

The heat is from both zorst and gearbox. I want to insulate the floor first. Quicker and easier. For now.

Bunnings yeah John? I will go there on Friday... Gotta do this before i go away with the camper. Not towing its fine, when towing there is a lot more load on the box and engine so everything just heats up faster and longer. I must fix this...
