G'Day all

I own a company in Vancouver that makes overdrive units for Land Rovers. (We have many Australian customers thanks)

I have recently been approached by an American Gentleman who would like us to manufacture an overdrive model for his 60s Nissan Patrol - I think the designation is the LJ40 - certainly a rare beast in Canada as most Japanese vehicles from that period have rotted away.

Making the overdrive would not be difficult (the transfer case has suspicious similar to a Series Land Rover) but would require some investment.

Some questions

Are there significant numbers of these vehicles surviving in Australia and would there be any interest in overdrives for them? Bear in mind by the time you ship such a beast to Australia you have spent $A1600 or so.

Were the transfer cases used on these models also used on later Nissans?

Most Land Rover Defenders have a five speed transmissions but overdrives are popular on them as they give an extra 28% top gear that the diesel can easily pull. Are there any models of later Nissan that could benefit from a 28% overdrive?

Best regards
