hey everyone!

we are having heaps of problems with our 96 gq rd28t glow plugs.
originally 2 of the old glow plugs had fused in to the cylinder head (bank 4 and 6) so we had to get HMGEM to drill them out for us. Was all good, get the head back and put the car back together, put in our brand new hkt cp70 and cp71 glow plugs in but the back 3 are shorting out. we noticed that the cp71 glow plugs are all different lengths so called the place we got them and they are refunding us because they don't think that is right.

So now we need to get new glow plugs and have no idea what to do. The hkt ones were 6.5v but have been doing some reading and not sure if they are meant to be 6.5v or 11v plugs.
Thinking of possibly getting a kit off eBay to convert the current 2 stage system (the 2 different types of glow plugs and rails) to just a single rail, one relay box and 6 of the same glow plugs... or can we just get 6 of the same glow plugs and not change the rails n relays over?
What is our best option to fix this stupid system?

This car has been a nightmare to fix and we just need it to work after being off the road for 4mths now... please help!

That ebay kit should work fine.

Or you can replace the glow plugs with 6 of the same type 12 volt plugs and wire up a momentary push button switch in the dash.

Or, if your first stage relay is still working, you can fit the 6 same plugs and just ignore the flashing glow plug light in the dash. It's only flashing because the second stage is not working.
