My 2002 GU2 Patrol (TB48DE A/T) is often getting stuck in limp mode with a fault code of P1121. and it will start normally again after 6 or 7 attempts and then be OK for the next few days.

Nissan mechanic said that the throttle position sensor should be replaced but according to shop manual this is part of the ETC Actuator.

Is the TPS replaceable on its own or do I replace whole ETC Actuator?
The part numbers would also be appreciated.

Update: Just called Nissan, looks like I have to replace the whole throttle body for a mere $600 - hopefully this is the problem or at least I will have a spare.

This faulty etc was also causing the ignition to half crank and cut-out and also I had troubles s.witching from petrol to gas. After replacement my problems seem to have been resolved, my patrol is starting normally now.

It looks like the ETC actuator rivetted to the side of the throtle body has its own Bosch part number. It would be interesting to know if this is a replaceable part from a bosch suplier. Will update this thread when I find out.

A couple of ppl here have re-coed their TPS by drilling a small hole
in it and spraying the be-geessa out of it with some CRC or similar.
Sealing it up again with a dab of silicon
