You know you want to be here buggalugs. Easier to post here than stop drinking, get out of the chair, yell across the camp. Happy Hour is a good time
Lol!! If I'm having such a great time I usually don't have the time to post on social media. ..... anyway I thought all your camp sites were meant to be booked next to each other ??

Yeah all the sites are in a Row. Originally the booking was much larger and we would have been in a group on both sides of the road but with a smaller group they have lined us up in a row. Works OK, across would have been a winner though. 5 sites in a row works OK though. The park is small so it's not a long way from anywhere.
Normally when there is a forum Meetup on where there is Internet reception it is common practice to post up stuff on the go. Having a great time mate, laid back and No Stress here at all. Zero Expectations of what needs to happen and what everyone is doing.
Looking to do a run to the Mouth of the Murray on Monday which could be 500kms return on the beach. Big day.

Most have been opened now but fire is only contained.
So yea up to you.
Anyway. Another great day.
This man is in love.

But was a great day for a drive. A bit to windy for a swim but we might check out a closed coast bit.
Anyway. Great driving.

So after it being to windy this morning and cold for a swim we visited a couple of washed up whale bones for a few pick and some fun for the kids.
Biggest one was smack on 5m and the other I'd say just under 4.
After a but of deliberation we concluded that it was in fact a vertebrate... Lol
Anyway we continued onto robe again to check out a popular coffee shop which backed onto a huge playground.
53427
53428
So after a top coffee and cake we topped up the pantry, a quick swim and surf on long beach and now preparing for tomorrow's 500k Murray mouth treck.
So far conditions have been prime.
Nice hard sand with the occasional churned up sections.
Anyway. Off to enjoy our salt and pepper squid. And the payment brews for assisting the navara on day one.
Cheers

Wrong side of the mouth mate but your more than welcome to jump on board at 42 mile if you like and do the last section with us.
We're planning a 8am departure and all reports are good. So I'll assume if all goes well we should be coming past 42mile around 1030 ish.

Was an awesome day.
Awesome scenery. Some really cool patterns on the sand.
53520
First 10 mind on the sand we spotted a seal sun bathing. No it wasn't Darren it was an actual seal ;-)
53525
And we scored a second body board for the trip. This is a nice thick adult size one so we'll hit the surf some time.
And I think the best bit of my day was filling up to find I matched darrens fuel consumption to the litre.
71.7 litres from Kingston return. Very happy with that.
Unfortunately it seems the beautiful weather which was forcasted seems to be slipping us and we may be packing up in the rain.
But hey. Rain hail or sun well be enjoying it.

But apart from and amerok blocking our travels (made lite work by Darren) it was a great day. Tough as the sand was soft as but great scenery.
Most my picks are slr so I'll throw them up over the weekend

BLOODY AMAZING TRIP!!!
That was by far the best meet up I have attended, and that includes trips with my club. Cape Jaffa is still mostly unspoilt, but there is a heap of money being invested there, so I would suggest putting it on your "Must Go To" list, before it is developed.
Thanks for suggesting the meet up, Kallen and MR. It was great to meet all you guys again, and to meet you friends and rellies.
I have discovered that the little RB30's rev limiter is set above 7800 rpm, by getting off the beach and up a very chopped up, soft dune which had a curve and difficult angle.
Photos to follow this arvo.

I have got a few pictures of the others but forgot to ask permission to post them and I still have to blot out some number plates. These rocks had upright petrified tree trunks, very similar to Cape Bridgewater Vic.

Really enjoyed this trip, great place to go.
Thanks to Darryn and Kallen for suggesting this and everybody for the great company and making my extended family welcome.
It was great seeing the little kids having fun and we enjoyed our regular visits from Sophia and Amelia(chatterbox).
It was also good to have Kevin along in his Hilux so Kallen could practice his beach recovery although I believe he was recovered by a Hilux on Thursday.
Here are a few photos from the drive a couple of us did to Canunda while Darryn, Kallen & Craig were leading a tag along tour for anybody they spoke to in Beachport.

The trip from Beachport to Robe was supposed to be only the four vehicles. MR(GU), Kallen (GQ), Kevin (HILUX) and me (GQ), but when we arrived at the start of the tracks, we ended up with a convoy of eight vehicles.
It was fantastic to see Darren invite four car loads of complete strangers, (all new to 4 wheel driving and in varying vehicles) to come with us.
They were all unsure of going it alone and getting stuck.
He helped air down their tyres and we supplied some of the newbies with some spare hand held radios.
Once we got going we had one bloke miss a turn at a T intersection, so the tail end of the convoy had to backtrack. After this Kallen jumped a few places ahead of me so there was GQ awsomeness dispersed throughout the convoy.
With great diligence and patience Darren coached the new drivers over the more difficult terrain. I had a young couple travelling in a GQ powered by a Turboed RD28, following me, so I was able to tell them which gear to select for the rocky or steeper tracks.
A few times I looked at their faces in the rear view mirror, and they both had grins from ear to ear.
At the open sand dune area we had to perform a few recoveries and that taught the newbies many of the basics of sand driving.
As we neared the end of the trek, we encountered some more technical sections of track that we had by-passed the previous day.
It was a very long day, but I enjoyed this trip immensely and the friendships made were a nice bonus.
Thanks Darren for being a fantastic trip leader.

A few of the days I'd say a good 1.5m surf was on in sections.
The group shot.
After seeing these guys battle what I thought was easy in their ifs vehicles. I'm glad I drive a Nissan..

And don't believe what they say.
I self recovered. The hills became a price of my kit once I attached my winch rope lol
53722

I was on my way up at least a 15m sand hill which peaked at more than 50 degrees and just didn't power on for long enough. Ended up plonking myself down next to the colarado. But it showed how quickly it can turn to crap.
At one stage we had 4 cars bogged on 2 different dunes.

And you said I didn't do as hard a climbs as you, Kallen. It was dune experience that let me know not to do those on the steep side. Lol. I still had a lot of fun though. And I reckon the newbies had a ball.

I thought our uses were good for the conditions.
In the tougher stuff we were getting 23ish per 100k. That's low range second or third high rpm stuff.
On the easier stuff it was high teens.

Yeah I was impressed with thirty nine litres for 183 km of driving. We were pushing hard on the soft stuff for most of the time.
Here are some more pictures. The VW was well and truly dug in, with high tyre pressures and soft sand.
