View Full Version : how to remove the needle bearing in the knuckle spindle on axle of GU

Place the removed knuckle spindle in a vice with the needle bearing at the top.
Using small chisel or flat blade screwdriver, knock out the inner sleeve and roller.
Turn spindle over in vice and using a long flat blade screwdriver or flat piece of steel down the inside of the spindle until it catches on the lip of the outer part of the bearing.
Gently tap out going around the bearing as you go so it comes out evenly.
clean off any burrs you may have caused.

You can also use old pushrods from inside the engine, the bell shape on one end is perfect for knocking them out

Yeah, but it's a pita putting them back in the engine when you're finished :)
