Hi Guys, Have beening having trouble with signal strength down my way in Bittern 3918.VIC . have try some antenna's that are from ebay , but yes there work in the city ok . I have ask many ? at audio car places and say you can try this antenna at this price ,but cant promise that will work down my way. long story short , I have 4x4 car that has a uhf antenna at the back sticking above roof line as you do when setup your uhf radio, but today I connected my "Pure" car digital radio to my uhf antenna wire and bingo almost full strength in signal and in Bittern . So happy now , 54 channels it scanned . still don't know why the uhf band 477 MHz range works. hope this help others get signal strength too regards Alex
p.s. I don't use my uhf radio at the moment , but can convert back anytime :-)

Get another cheap uhf antenna and change the plug to a stereo jack and all is good

Without getting into too much techo detail... a UHF CB antenna will work reasonably well because the DAB+ carrier freqs are slightly less than 1/2 the uhf CB band freq's

could you put a splitter in the wire then permenantly connected

I don't think you would want 5W going into your rf in on your radio.

You can buy am/fm/cb antennas.
I had it on my other 4x4 as always breaking off the OE radio antennas in the guard,
Hard to break up on the bulbar not impossible but harder to break

Not if one is a transmitter. It lets the smoke out of the other one and radios won't work after the smoke gets out.
If both are recievers then, yes, howevere you never get something for nothing and the apparent gain of the antenna will be reduced.
Sometimes not enough to be noticeable but depends on set to set.
If one set is say a CB scanner and the other a DAB then would probably be acceptable.
You can get antenna selectors that allow you to switch between radios but again they have small losses
By far the best idea is one radio one antenna but I do have a selector switch on one of the antennae in my truck so I can easily connect my handheld to a higher gain vehicle mounted antenna if I choose
