That reminds me of the time about 1974 driving to karumba in the gulf and we were doing about 110mph and I saw a bull in the middle of the road and locked up the old 350 monaro and when we came to rest there was nothing for miles, must have been tired!

I saw little monkeys on the side of the road going over Hay plains driving from Loveday4x4 park to Canberra. At that stage I thought I better pull up and have a snooze.

Another time in the Brindabellas, I was sitting on a bush toilet about 6am when I saw a black cat a size of a panther ,It did a couple of cat like leaps and disappeared into the scrub...Cool or what...wish a camera but who takes one to the shitta :(

Driving home to the farm in Victoria from FNQ in the early eighties we cut through Powelltown to get home. It was dusk and I saw what I swear was a Tassie Tiger, it ran up a bank off the side of the road and I had a really good look at it.
I said to Pauly, "did you see that?" her reply was "I sure did, it was a Tassie Tiger".

Recently in the Barrington Tops near here in NSW I saw a big black cat, one of them Pumas I'm guessing. It's tail was probably 1 1/2 times longer than its body which was a bit longer that our Blue Healers. The thing looked huge for a cat.

What comes to mind is a time we were camping at the Ross River Homestead, east of Alice Springs. For those who don’t know the campground, it is a flat grassed area ringed by close rocky hills. Just before dark a storm blew up, lots of wind, thunder & lightning, no rain. I saw what I guess must be ‘ball lightning’. It struck a high point on a hill no more than a couple of hundred metres away but then bounced several times, in a ball, along the top of the hills. An amazing sight. TD’s suggested pattern may or may not have been involved! :)

Mine always starts with "how much do you love me"? Which normally means $$$ or something is planned with the inlaws :)

Seeing that ferral cats grow big not huge seems to put the black panther theory to rest
I've never seen a ferral cat in my life , ok once when I was 12 on my Uncles farm,
a three legged job went ape shite in the farm house, They say there are millions of them.
cant see the army letting a breeding pair go. As for the Tassie Tiger that's possible but as soon as they find one
it will be the end of the species. They are not protected so any red neck could shoot one for the 15min of fame
Would like to think they exist, all we have to show they existed is a scratchy film of one pacing back and forward in a cage.
We have a lot to learn about conservation IMO

Are you saying there is a black panther or there are no black panthers its just big feral cats?

Did you take your meds 2day John, have you seen any of theses things? *L*

AB

A lot of wallabies get mistaken for panthers or "big cats".

We have some dark almost black wallabies on my road and at dusk when they take off they crouch down low as they cross the road and look evil as they dart across on dusk and you only catch them from the corner of your eye...

When I first moved up here I kept seeing glances of them from a distance and thought...wtf was that!!!

I just don't think its logical that Panthers have existed "unseen" for so long
A ferral cat will grow big but no where near panther size. Even recent footage was only a domestic cat. IMo
But more than welcome to be proven wrong. we have a big Pineapple so a big cat could be next

Its been seen by many people, just no camera / video proof. Havn't you read all the stories about the big black panther that lives here in the blue mountains?

I'm a believer and I haven't even seen it

I saw little monkeys on the side of the road going over Hay plains driving from Loveday4x4 park to Canberra. At that stage I thought I better pull up and have a snooze.

Another time in the Brindabellas, I was sitting on a bush toilet about 6am when I saw a black cat a size of a panther ,It did a couple of cat like leaps and disappeared into the scrub...Cool or what...wish a camera but who takes one to the shitta :(

To take photos and post on Facebook. Because there's not enough shit on there as it is!

A faint, but huge paw print we found in the sand on a track near Mt Richmond. I have no idea what made the tracks, but it would have to have been around or just under the Great Dane size range. There are no farm buildings within a few kilometres of the spot, and the track is on the national park boundary. P.S. A couple of my kids, just reminded me, that they swear they saw a big cat-like animal cross another track, nearby on a different day. I did not see it, so can not confirm the sighting. (I reckon it was a big wallaby, but got howled down for suggesting it.)

I just don't think its logical that Panthers have existed "unseen" for so long
A ferral cat will grow big but no where near panther size. Even recent footage was only a domestic cat. IMo
But more than welcome to be proven wrong. we have a big Pineapple so a big cat could be next

What I saw was big even for a domestic cat gone feral, the thing that gets me is with all our combined bush travelling no one has found a dead Puma or a skeleton even.

The one I saw had a big cats tail, sweeping to the ground then turning up with a "ball" of fur at the end. It certainly wasn't a wallaby, I did think that when it was stationary but it moved funny for a wallaby and when it turned side on there was no doubt, 4 legs and a tail like a big cat.

The Tassie Tiger we saw was in 1980, lots of fires and human development / activities since then. Pity they are extinct.

What animals have a green eye shine when caught in a spot light?. I have spotted a near, black coloured low slung, heavy set animal which started hissing and spitting when I caught it in the light.. I thought Tassie devil, or a bloody big feral cat, maybe? It was in long grass, in next doors paddock, and didn't move fluidly like a cat. It could have been an injured or sick cat. Its is possible some tools have re-introduced the devils, I suppose. I have heard of reports idiots a trying to smuggle foxes to Tassie.

Whenever I go to Bunnings I see strange things, I think its our version of wallmart

You obviously have never spent time in Moe, Vic. They breed ’em there & export them to Bunnings countrywide. The remaining Moe population are Bunnings rejects! :)

Hahahahahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!
Moe is where my GoPro and digital camera got stolen on our Licola trip. Filled up with fuel and left my car unlocked when I went inside to pay for the fuel, must have pinched them then.

One day driving back to the Sunny Coast on the Gatton- Esk Rd, I saw a large black cat, bigger and longer than a dog
it crossed the road in two bounds and definitely was not a roo, was sober and not tired, didn't tell anyone for a couple of
years, then told mate one day and they said I was not the only one that has seen it as there have been several reported sitings
of it.
