Hmm... first post in a very long time.. I've been enjoying the car too much ;)

I've doing some well deserved and long overdue maintanence and found the following:

http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forums/images/imported/2013/12/122.jpg

This is on a TB48 where I had a new engine installed 13 months ago, noting that the 'install' was simply a drive-in-drive-out service and I had the car tuned at an LPG specialist after the event.

I this is the powervalve, not EGR as I guessed earlier.

The question is, is the a good mod to leave on the petrol engine ?
Could this be contributing to really lousy fuel economy even for a tb48?
Should I remove it ?
If I do am I up for a retune ?

Although I suspect most of my economy issues may come down to the black MAF sensor, it was that bad I couldn't see the metal strip at first. Clean now so time will tell if that makes a difference.

Cheers
Jason.

note... found a reference to this mod:

http://www.patrol4x4.com/forum/diy-modifications-accessories-40/4-8-cruise-manual-mode-mod-44263/index2.html

the findings are... dubious IMHO.
