My GQ Safari has a beeper that sounds when the drivers side door is opened and there key is still in the ignition. From a scout round other threads (and a listen) it sounds like the beeper is up underneath the steering column behind a plastic trim.

Can someone tell me how to get in behind there and what I'm looking for - and what other havoc I might wreak by taking it out - I'm a hunter and its hopeless to be hoping out for a look at something with the truck merrily beeping away.

Thanks

Is it aftermarket or is it because it's a Japanese import? Definitely not normal on Patrol GQs

Yep - a Jap import. Thanks for the link, I'll check it out.

Done. The beeper or buzzer was a green rectangular box about half as big again as a matchbox, mounted on the panel beside the drivers knee (sort of behind the fuse box).

Thanks for the suggestions.
