If you came to the NT, you can buy it in a normal butcher. If you were in the good books at some communities, you could bag a whole one for yourself, with a few cuts to the community.

The meat itself is very lean, and easy to overcook.

With normal meats, the fat burning smell leaks out of the oven. You can cook buff as a roast, and almost no one would know you were cooking a roast.

As P4trol says. It's readily available up here. It pretty good marinated for 24 hours before quickly cooking it on the Barbie...

Yeah we know how to cook good meat and my wife has done some research on it.. I hate seeing a steak getting killed more than once!!

There is a mob local to us that may be the go and will ring tomorrow.. I hope they have it as I like to try different things.

As for shooting one the biggest rifle I have is a 30/06 and it is no buffalo gun.....

That's big enough, they used to use a .303 and the 30/06 is way better than that.

had a full beast for my 21st when i lived in darwin
went out with one of the rangers and shot a 12 month old
took it back and working at coles used the butchers cool room to hang it
night of 21st hung it in the breez way and people cut off what they wanted and cooked it themselves
