Hi all,

Just a few quick pics of my rig, I've owned it for roughly 12 months and I love it!

She is a 2004 GU IV ST ZD30 in manual.

It has:
Alloy bulbar with Lightforce 240 XGT HID driving lights and 24 inch lightbar
GME tx3440 uhf with RFI aerial
Kenwood dvd/ gps nav system
ARB dual compressor
RAW 4x4 shockies
33" Mickey Thompson STZ tyres
Autometer Cobalt series boost and pyro gauges (Has anyone got the pyro fitted to their car? Has anyone had dramas with theirs? I'm having trouble with mine and I keep returning it to the shop I bought it from, they get it tested, tell me its working perfect, put it back in the car and it plays up....getting very frustrated!!!)

I have blocked the egr, fitted a catch can, i'm still not sure about the dawes valve and needle any advice would be appreciated. :feedback:

Eventually I'll save enough money to get the following from the wish list:
Upgraded intercooler (has anyone got one of these? are they any good? )http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NISSAN-GU-PATROL-ZD30-direct-injection-BRAND-NEW-HI-FLOW-upgrade-intercooler-/301033480289?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4616fe6061
3" Exhaust
Alloy roof rack with monster lightbar
ARB deluxe steel bulbar, I hate the alloy one!
2" suspension lift
I'll eventually get around to building some draws and table on the rear door!

I want to build it to be a reliable tourer (no hand grenade jokes please... :tease:) so the family and I can just pack up and go where ever we want for a camping trip or big adventure. I think the ZD 30 can be a reliable motor if they are looked after correctly and driven with a bit of sympathy in mind from the driver.

Anyways that's enough from me.

Take it easy :049:

Good on you Steve. Looks great. Nice list.

I crashed my GUIV a few months ago (little crash) and had the factory steal bar replaced with an ARB deluxe bar for $200! Happy days so much nicer.

Check out the vendors section for "Lights" he does the best light bars mate and is a good mate of mine. I can comment on the eBay intercooler other than its cheap!

I have a full length Alloy roof rack off eBay that I have been very happy with after some small trouble at fitting. But for $500 I will put up with a little trouble at fitting as the ARB are 3 times that!

Have fun mate. Your car is not in the range to be a Grenade mate. Happy dayz

Mud Runner

Sorry to hear about your GU IV being crashed hope all involved were ok! There is always a silver lining hey! I really like the look of the ARB deluxe bars there is just something about them.

I'll head over and definitely have a look at those light bars you mentioned.

I forgot to mention that the ebay intercooler would be a temporary replacement for my leaky one that is fitted at the moment until i can afford a Cross Country......I have checked the sellers feedback and it appears that he has sold heaps of them and all his customers keep mentioning how good the quality of the IC is... its worth a shot I think.

I think i'm looking at the same alloy rack, what problems did you have with it? Are they pretty sturdy?

Thanks for the info.:smiley_thumbs_up:

Hi nice looking ride didn't know the 04 came out with those flares.
As for CC IC think they are not value for money for what you get in return.
for that matter I think most after market IC are over priced.
I run a fully tigged intercooler and the large scoop and found that fits my needs,
with out going over board.
Where is your pyro fitted and what problems you having with it?

From memory the bolts in the fitting kit were not long enough and i replaced them with Stainless Steal ones. I have a full fitup documented in pics for a thread here but never got around to posting it up. done a heap and never posted :(

I have used it very well and as long as you understand not to walk straight up the middle then it handles the weight well i think. I have had it on the roof for 3 years and it has done the Madigan Line with ease.

Hi Threedogs,

My Patrol was the first of the current shape (October onwards I believe) to come out hence the updated look (flares, headlights etc) I have also wondered whether the CC IC is value for money as it is so expensive, I figured if I get that ebay one I was looking at and it serves me well I would just keep it. I just scored a bigger scoop for 90 bucks too! It was on a td42 but ill make it work

My pyro is mounted on the A pillar in a gauge cup and the probe is 50mm behind the turbo in the dump pipe. The gauge intermittently freezes and won't calibrate itself correctly at start up and it then displays the wrong temp which is out usually by about 200 degrees. I have sent it back twice and they test it and tell me that it works perfectly on the test bench. The guys testing it are telling me that I need to change earths and power feeds (which I have done 3 times prior to sending it back the first time!) and it still hasn't made a difference. I have checked resistances of the earth lead from the battery to the chassis and the engine block which have 0 ohms resistance. The gauge earths directly to the engine block which was recommended by the dude that tests them..... didn't make a difference now they reckon that I need to check my earth leads to the battery, which I did and have no resistance in them. So at the moment im at a bit of a loss, i'm going to add another earth strap between the block, chassis and both batteries and see if that makes a difference, failing that i'm going to put it in my dad's patrol and see if it plays up so then I can tell them to shove the gauge up their a#*!!!!

Thanks for the info about that alloy rack MudRunner!!
