Hey guys
I just got a gme tx3100 off a mate and after
I installed it I tried to talk to him on it he was at his
House I was at mine and normally can her each other fine
But I noticed for some reason it was really staticky and crap
To hear him and I turned my car off and picked up
Clear as day
Is this normal? I never noticed it with my old uniden one had
Before this one
If not any ideas what it could be causing it?
Cheers
Josh

Have you double checked the wiring? And run power straight from the battery?
Are you running the antenna cord near the alternator?

I reckon you have a bad earth mate, either to the radio, the aerial or the battery to the body.

Mine was crackly from being too close to the ECU, moved it to the other side and has cleared it.

Or, try a radio/noise suppressor

run another wire from under antenna to neg on your battery,
Check RF gain or squelch knob if you have them.
Static is caused by heaps of things is your aerial tight, location is one over head wires etc
