Hi Guys, My name´s Andy and I´m usually in the UK but at the moment I´m in Spain. I used to be a mechanic but after twenty years I thought it best to let the young ´uns have a go before I got myself under someone´s dashboard and needed the fire brigada to get me out! There´s some really nice folks who´ve been providing me with somewhere to sleep while I´m over here and I happened to mention that I used to be a mechanic. The next thing I know I´m trying to help them find out why a Patrol that´s been parked for two years won´t start!

Everything seems ok except I can´t get any fuek to squirt out of the injector pipes (it´s a diesel) when the engine´s turning over. I´ve bled the fuel system up to and including the injector pump. It´s as if the fuel cut off is closed or something. Can any of you let me know how I can check the fuel cut off is allowing fuel to pass? From what the people here are saying they could stop the engine by just turning the ignition off which provided they´re right would mean it´s a solenoid but I can´t see it anywhere.
