Hi all,

My name is Santo, I'm from Melbourne.

I have a 2002 gu patrol 4.8 on injected LPG.

I'm relatively new to the 4x4 scene. I have just started prepping the 4x4, and have just fitted a genuine bull bar, winch set it lights. I'm about to receive a used safari snorkel to install, which should be a fun job!

Thanks!

Santo

Thanks for the warm welcome.

The patrol was originally bought for towing and a few years ago it was treated to sons koni shocks and heavier springs..

Just now I managed to get a new Nissan bullbar at the right price, and took a gamble with a ridge Ryder 12000lb winch at $498 with dyneema. Dad has a lot of the other gear from back when he used to go out 4x4ing. I have just installed all if that with a set of rallye 2000's that we're sitting in the garage. Today I just received a used safari snorkel that I got very cheap and have my head around installing it tomorrow.. Fingers crossed! I'll post a pic below.

Here are some pics as follows, finally got the snorkel on.

I'm contemplating some 30mm coil spacers on the front to level out the front/rear, if the springs were shagged i would change them, but they are HD and less than a year old..

Hope you all like it... I now have the winch disconnected, just need to wire up the switch (2500A 10 sec, 300A continuous) and hook it up, install the spring spacers and dial the shocks up half a turn, to compensate for the extra weight in the front.

Please feel free to post any more suggestions... If a set of genuine alloys pop up at the right price i think they will look great. Then i'll get some mediocore 33's to put on the steel rims to bolt up when i go out 4x4'n.

Thanks,

Santo

Welcome Santo,

If you are planning on doing lots of trips, leave the back a little higher than the front, as it will sag when you load it up.....
