Hi all

Just had my 93 GQ TD42 (just under 200k on clock) compression tested today.

No1 was 350 & got worse No6 was 320, spec is 355 (Gregory's)

I was planning on installing a DTS low mount turbo with a CC intercooler.

Don't want insane amounts of boost, but plan to buy a camper trailer soon.

Still think it's worth the $ putting a turbo on it?

Thanks

Barra

I wouldn't worry about those reading they are completely normal 355 is a base line they would like to achieve. But remember you car is 200000km and 20 years old. So that's not bad at all. I had mine done at 260000 and they ranged from 350-320 so it's all good

I would me more concerned about variance with those pressures. There is a set limit between each cylinders. For example they may have to all be within 20psi of each other.

According to the Gregory's manual

Standard = 2942kpa (426.07psi)
Minimum = 2452kpa (355.63psi)
Maximum variation between cyl = 294kpa (42.64psi)
