Hi folks,
Can anyone enlighten me on the process of getting cable up to an overhead console via the main dine lamp?
Do I need to pull the drivers seat out to get it up the B-Pillar?
Cheers,
Drew

I took mine up the A pillar Drew. But my overhead console goes across the car not up the middle. What do you need to power up mate? Can't you just use the interior Light power that is there?

Yep, up a pillar, then if your just fitting a middle console you'll need to attach whirring to the roof fabric cross wire..

Going to shift my UHF up there, plus some extra lighting and it also has a dual battery monitor in it. I want to run some of those accessories from the second battery.

I was thinking of the uhf, but not a fan of hanging wires.

I guess that's an option if you have a split unit. I was also thinking of selling mine and getting a mini unit, or even just the all in one hand piece one. Save those precious din spots in the gq..

Mines not a split unit I've got a gme3500 http://www.gme.net.au/products/radio-communications/uhf-477mhz-cb-radios/TX3500
But it gives you an option of mounting the mic from the rear and I just got a 2-3 m phone extension cord I think it had to be the 8 pin variety it was very easy.

Come to think of it I think it was 6 pin ext cord and I had a hard time finding it every one only had 6 pin but only 4 core wire.
I was nervous cutting out the sunglasses holder but I knew worst case I could get one from a wreckers lol

So do I have to pull the seats out to access the b-pillar?

Divers A pillar is what I used and depending how many wires you can just remove the door rubber to say half way and tuck it behind that even removing the pillar you will have the wires run in 10 mins

In the GQ you will have to remove he seat belt to take the b pillar cover off. You can just move the seat fully forward and it will be clear of the b pillar but for the sake of 4 bolts it will be right out of your way in a couple of minutes mate.
