hello all

Great forum ,have been reading for the last 2 days.
Thanks to all people involved ,to set this up and maintain it.

Got for the last 5 years a 2001 (september) 3 litre tdi manual patrol.
I was reading up on the forum,Engine and Drivetrain about blocking EGR valve
Was wondering , if you block the egr valve do you have to reset the computer ,or disconect something else.
I tryed to find (see below) referal, but can not find it ,..... even when it is spelled out to me haha

in fact there is a spread on it here in the DIY section under: Nissan Patrol Reference Document. it outlines this mod & a hole lot of other info as well.

Welcome to the forum Saltbush.
You need 25 posts up to view the reference document.

You need to be very careful blocking the EGR on a ZD30 motor as it can cause over boosting, they are very sensitive to air flow changes. I would not attempt to do it unless you have boost and EGT (exhaust gas temperature) gauges fitted. When you do block the EGr it is best to also fit a Dawes valve, it takes control of the boost away from the computer and lets you can manually set maximum boost.

Welcome Saltbush from the hills of WA. Great to see another sandgroper on here. Like Tony (YNOT) says, you need 25 posts to get access to the manual. It's not too hard. All you have to do is to keep talking.

Take care out there.

Don't forget WA also has the Western Patrol Club, of which I'm a country member. So, please consider that too.

Take care out there.
