Hi everyone, just changed the gear box oil on the gu manual. Problem is it only took about 3 litres till it started to come out of filler. Did in the garage so it was flat. Drained as much as I could and jacked back when emptying to get out as much as it could. Any ideas as it should have been 3.8l?

G'day Covo,
not sure I'm remembering this correctly but I reckon I've found the same thing. Know for a fact that on the trans. fluid refills I do not go straight to the volume listed as somewhen I did and ended up with fluid running down my neck. Fairly sure it was the gear box rather than transfer case of either of the diffs.
How that can be I've no idea but the good news is if it's full, it's full. Secondly, check it after a run and top if needed. Don't think it will be.
Regards
Col

Cheers Col. Makes you feel better when someone else has had the same thing. Makes you feel you haven't cocked it up completely. I can do that plenty of other times. Haha
