G'day members, my son and I have just purchased a GQ Patrol coiled cab chassis 4.2. Its a 96 model, 1 owner and as stock as a rock. The vehicle is for my son but being familiar with other 4x4 forums I know this would be the nest place to get advise on a build. Looking forward to seeing what I can learn and what not to do.
First thing is getting it up in the air ATM the 17 year old suspension is pretty tired and looking more like a LowPatrol.
Future mods
4 inch lift
33's not sure maybe 35s depending on regearing costs
Turbo - currently has gas fitted up but doesnt seem to increase power any.
Bull bar
rock sliders
and the usual like cb etc

Cheers

Welcome 2 the forum guys

Why a 4inch lift? Are you planning on getting it certified??? You also need everything else that goes with a 4 inch lift, drop boxes, brake proportioning valve bracket 2 suit the lift....... the list goes on

Not sure why would anyone would bother these days unless you have acres elsewhere or plan or plan on competing ( even the comp guys don't usually go that high these days ) No where in Sydney 2 drive legally these days :(:(:(

Anyways, great bunch of members on here always willing 2 help out where they can

Enjoy the forum and what it has 2 offer

Cheers

Thanks guys, just trying to get familiar with finding my way around on here. GQ4.2 originally wanted to fit 35s but am discovering 33s seems to be more cost effective. Basically wanted to get as much flex as possible for off roading. Its not a daily drive and I have enquired about engineering but at the stage its all about gathering information. Very much open to suggestions
