Just thought I'd throw this out there for comments. I'm about to order a tank and want to hear your comments on whats better/worse, your experiences, etc.
Both are around the same price, both Aussie made, both similar specs...blabhlabla
One thing I did hear is the Long rangers tend to develop rust quicker then the BD.. Also BD does lots of military spec stuff...

I went with Long Ranger purely because I supposedly got trade price for it, but didnt really look into it any further.
I guess it's too new to comment on the rust issue. Might have a squiz under there tonight.

From the research that I did, brown Davis are generally the preferred choice. One person said the internal welds are much better and it had better baffling? But they are just words on the internet so who knows.

Yeah, I think I couldn't go wrong with either of the two. The BD gives me an extra 3 liters...LOL
Most of the ACT distributors/dealers are a bunch of farks and don't give a sh1t about their customers :( Don't know how they stay in business!!!! (ARB being the worst and most arrogant!)
The only place that showed interest in doing a deal was Roof Rack City and they can do both brands. Guess who's getting my $$$$...LOL

Yeah, I've seen their under body protection product as well but I am pretty well covered with that stuff......Mal's(Harris Hard Nose) guards look the business as well!!

I would stay away from LRA simply due to the poor service I received when I took my tank directly to them for repair after fatigue damage.
When I recieved the tank back with a new mounting bracket none of the holes lined up. The idiot at the factory wasnt interested so I ended up repairing it myself.

All good mate. It's currently being made, then shipped to Canberra and fitted in a couple of weeks:)
I was ganna do it myself so was thinking of someone picking it up for me but got a very good deal shipped and fitted so opted for the easy/lazy way...LOL
Thanks anyways mate.

A mate of mine was building the long ranger tanks for years. He's a bit of a perfectionist. I'd have one any day
