View Full Version : Petrol cluster in diesel rig.

Hi guys, haven't been on for a while. Work,life etc. I'm going to either drop a LS1/2 into my GQ (TD42) or buy another & start fresh. I have found out with the harness that I am going to use, I need to adapt a signal box ($200) to make the tacho work because of mine being a diesel. I was thinking in stead of that, if I was to just put a petrol cluster in (free), it all should work. Anyone know any different? If I buy another GQ, It'll be a EFI 4.2. So won't have to worry about that. Cheers Jono.

will still need the box the box id say as the tacho will not read right with a v8 in her. My mate just put a petrol cluster in his TD42 but had to change the tacho. Everything works fine on it.

Apparently if you drop a LS1 into a petrol patrol the tacho works, just not in the diesels. That's why I reckon I should be able to just put a petrol cluster in.

If thats the case then yeah you should be fine.
