Just a quick question.
Does people prefer just to use normal Diesel (Truck Diesel) or do you prefer vortex Diesel.

Apparently Vortex diesel is better for your engine and power but who knows really.... I just use normal diesel at the Shell.

Which vehicle mate?
I really didn't notice much difference in my GQ TD42, some people have some people not. It was mentioned that it probably wouldn't make much difference on an older diesel engine but the later models such as the CRD can get better mileage and run smoother, etc.

In a 98 GU. Long story short i bought the injector cleaner and i filled both tanks up and the servo bloke said why dont u just use vortex diesel. He reckons it will make it run better and take off better.

I read in the latest 4WD Action that the Vortex is designed with newer common rail engines in mind but is also good for older engines. But they were doing a whole big speil on premium fuels and Caltex obviously gave them a lot of money to say good things about them.

I tested this. Always believed it was a gimmick and sale tactic but vortex definitely makes my crd run smoother. Don't know about extra power or mileage though. I also add flash lube every second tank.

Maybe next tank ill try it. Ill report back. My wife has a 2005 holden commo and we can see the difference in that with e10 and premium 98 but with the vortex Diesel who know. Hodge whats a flash lube? Sorry mate only new to this

I've found BP diesel the winner in the past..

But again, I drive a rattle gq with a bloody Cleveland truck engine up front.. Lol..

I used to always use Shell, until I was given a BP Fuel Card, and now I always buy BP whether I am using the card or not.
Better mileage and Power...

I use the vortex diesel in both my wife's ( captiva ) and mine ( 99 gu 2.8 ) and since changing over have noticed the difference in run quality and very slightly economy more so in the captiva though.

they say BP gives more bang for your buck, personally I use mainly Caltex Vortex, and had no fuel issues whats so ever.
Just about to click over 200,000K and drives like new IMO Get 12/100 around town and 14/100 towing camper on Hwy

Thank you for the responses fellas. I filled up last night with just normal diesel but put injector cleaner in it. Might just start using vortex and use the flash lube.

Have always been a BP diesel user as it has always given me good runnimg. Use an injector cleaner about every 10,000kms. Mind you I don't have a huge choice where I live and most of the local truckies use the BP so turnover is pretty good, which in my opinion is also benaficial.

I second the BP Diesel, I get at least an extra 80-100 k's per tank compared to shell or caltex or anything else, I really don't know why but its good stuff, now its all I use

Branding depends on which state you live and which company owns and run the fuel terminal or refinery . For example BP fuel in Victoria comes from mobil in Yarraville .

The wife used to work for ALMC australian lubricant manufacturers , a joint venture between bp and caltex making oils . Pretty much made most brands and only the tint and packaging changes , ie a 10w 40 sae xxxxxx no is the same oil just a different tint . For different brands .
Kinda like batteries I remember been at work with dad as a young bloke and doing the orders off the battery truck , the branding was put on as you did the order , same battery different sticker

Yeah my girl used to work for Neumann petroleum now puma. The amount of fuel that gets bought and sold between all the brands is nuts. Neumann (also Matilda) was always buying fuel from bp

I’m happy with vortex diesel, quicker to fuel up as doesn’t seem to foam as much
