Hi everyone,
Wondering if anyone can cast any light on this.
Mine is a 1993 GQ Ti with TB42E and 5-speed manual. There's a hand throttle knob in the usual place, but it doesn't do anything. A visual inspection under the dash reveals that there is a spring on the inside over a wire that connects to the throttle cable.
Does anyone know whether it ought to function, and if so, what the problem might be? Turning the knob seems to activate the spring, but this doesn't seem to manipulate the throttle cable as I imagine it is supposed to? Does this sound like it's been disconnected, or that the spring simply isn't doing it's job.
I imagine that it's quite a useful device for crawling up hills that are bumpy insofar as you needn't worry about the feet on the pedal smoothly if the revs are high enough to "idle" up.
Cheers,
David.
